Is Karisma’s marriage over?

According to friends close to the Kapoors, Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur’s marriage has moved beyond reconciliation. Karisma has closed all doors on her husband and there is no chance of reunion. "Not only Karisma but even her parents, Randhir and Babita, have broken all ties with Sunjay. And the reason is Priya Chatwal," says a source.

Sunjay’s intimacy with hotelier Vikram Chatwal’s estranged wife Priya came into news when Karisma was pregnant with her second child Kian. Their closeness had tongues wagging in Delhi.

"They are seen together almost every night and have been together for almost a year," says a source. While Priya has one daughter with Vikram and is legally married to him, they are said to have been estranged a year into their marriage.

This is not the first time stories of Karisma and Sunjay’s broken relationship have hit the media channels. When Karisma was pregnant with her first child- Samaira, Sunjay was embroiled in similar rumours.

But this time it seems the Kapoor family has taken a tough stand with Karisma not bothering with confrontation; and parents Randhir and Babita too not intervening to patch up things between the couple. "It's all over." says the source.

"The last few months have been very tough for Karisma. But somehow Kareena has kept her sister's spirits up. She has been spending a lot of time with her."

But Sunjay's friends have a different story and explanation. One of his close friends defended him by saying, "Sunjay would love to have Karisma with him all the time."

"She is a lovely person but not ready to live in Delhi. Granted it's not easy to adjust in Delhi when you have been leading a very cosmopolitan life in Mumbai, but spare a thought for this man who is young, attractive and yet comes back to an empty home after a long day's work. How can anybody say that he is dating Priya Chatwal?"

Meanwhile, Kareena and her parents are trying to push Karisma back into films. "Karisma will get a fresh start, but after Kian grows up a bit. Abhi bahut chhota hai woh," says a friend.

The question is that why Sunjay and Priya aren’t going public with their affair? A source says, "They can't do that until they are officially divorced from their respective spouses. But if you are in Delhi, almost every second person will tell you about them. It's an open secret."

Friday, March 11th, being Karisma and Sunjay’s kids’ birthday, everyone will wait to see how the couple behave with each other. Sunjay confirmed he is coming to Mumbai for Samaira and Kian's birthday party, but denied his marriage was under duress. "Who said it is? And why would you ask me a question like that," he thundered. "I am not dating Priya. The social circle can talk but that's irrelevant. Samaira and Kian are my children. Don't get them into this."

Sunjay and Karisma married in September 2003. Sunjay was previously married to designer Nandita Mahtani, who is now dating model-turned-actor Dino Morea. Nandita and Dino are also reportedly marrying very soon.
