Having affairs in office is quite common these days, especially because we spend more time at work than at home. Office affairs become famous among colleagues if they are not dealt with properly. When the news reaches your boss, he starts finding fault with everything you do. This might land your job in trouble. Well, now you can hide that office romance by following only a few tips.

Follow the same pattern and routine

The best way to hide an office romance is to not bring any change in your patterns, attitude and routine. At work, you must remain the same so that no one notices any change. If coffee is the first thing you had after reaching office, then continue doing that. Nothing should change. Colleagues, who like to gossip around are quick in noticing significant changes in routine. So avoid doing anything that makes people look at you, like having lunch and tea with your new partner, talking on extension phones, too much chatting in office with him/her, etc.

Keep it to yourself

New love birds always feel the urge to tell close friends who are also colleagues about their new hook up. But wait. Is this is a wise step to take? No. It’s not. This is a very crucial rule to follow when you really want to hide an office romance. Don’t expect them to keep the news to themselves. It's acceptable to tell friends or family who don't work in the same office, but be double sure that they have no connection with anyone in your office.

Do not use office e-mails

When it comes to expressing love while in office, do not use your office e-mails. Even chatting is dangerous because you would not know when somebody reads out the love lines you are typing. Some companies even have internal servers through which they can track your e-mails and therefore it is better to keep your love limited to texts and phone calls. Few IT people are very smart and if they get the slightest clue of your blossoming love, they will track down your history and geography easily.

Avoid attending office parties together

The office parties give you access to free alcohol that has one big risk- you lose control over yourself and may spill the beans on your blossoming love affair. It is better to stay away from such parties. Even if one or both of you don’t drink, there are chances of people noticing how lovingly both of you are trying to look at each other at regular intervals.

Best thing to do is to maintain the "Don't change your routine" philosophy. Always avoiding parties together also can give a tip-off to people. So sometimes you can avoid and at other times, you must attend the parties.

Don't let it affect your work

Your boss has nothing to do with your affair but he will surely make this the reason behind your careless work. So don’t let your new relationship hamper your work. It is also better to keep professional and personal lives separate. You did not reach this point in your career because of any love relationship. So don’t let anyone point fingers at you.

Avoid getting into places to make some love while in office. You can be suspected of such acts easily because having an office affair is no longer a taboo. So play safe and avoid having romance in lifts, staircase or even under the table.
